５月シャガツアー / Japanese Iris in May
綾部市奥上林にある水源の里・老富（おいとみ）。その中の集落市茅野（いちがや）に杉の森があります。その林立する杉の裾野にシャガという白い花が５月になると咲き乱れます。There is a village called ICHIGAYA, at OITOMI in Ayabe city. In ICHIGAYA, there are the forest with tons of Japanese cedar trees. Underneath of those Japanese cedar trees, you can see Japanese Iris grow in colony.
杉を間伐したことで、少しづつ増え、いまのような群生になったそうです。After cutting some of branch of cedar trees, it starts growing in colony.
この季節、田植えの準備もあり住民はあまり林にいかないため長い間気づかれずに咲いていたところ、３年ほど前にカメラマンの肩が見つけ、一躍有名になりました。
For a long time people doesn't notice that they have this colony of Japanese Iris here because at this time of season, people are busy to prepare rice field. One camera man found this place 3 years ago, then it gets famous.

そんなシャガが咲く５月に田植え体験と合わせたツアーを開催します。In May, we offer a tour that we go to see this Japanese Iris and experience in planting rice. The date is 20th of May.
